About Hoosier3D — Indianapolis 3D Printing
Built in Indianapolis. Made for the Businesses That Keep Indiana Moving.
I'm Kraig Downham, and I started Hoosier3D because I kept running into a problem I couldn't ignore.
If you needed a 3D-printed part in Indianapolis — a prototype, a functional component, a small run of something — your real options were slim. You could upload a file to a national platform, hand over your credit card, wait one to three weeks, pay for shipping both ways, and hope it came back right. Or you could call around and find out that nobody local had the equipment to do the job properly. Either way, you were stuck depending on someone far away who didn't know your deadline or your project.
I decided to fix that. I put serious money into serious equipment, set up shop here in Indianapolis, and built something I'm genuinely proud of. Hoosier3D LLC was founded in Indianapolis, Indiana in December 2025 by Kraig Downham, offering local FDM 3D printing services using Bambu Lab equipment. The whole point is to give Indiana businesses a fast, affordable, local option — one where you can actually talk to the person doing the work.
Who I Am
I'm based in Indianapolis, and I run Hoosier3D myself. When you reach out, you're getting me — not a support queue, not an intake form that disappears into a system. Just a direct conversation with the person who will actually be printing your parts.
I invested over $5,000 to build this out properly, because I wasn't interested in running a hobbyist side operation. The equipment I chose — Bambu Lab's P1S and H2C printers, AMS multi-color system, and a Polycam 3D scanner — is what professional shops run. I chose it for the same reasons they do: accuracy, speed, and reliability. The 3D Printing Services Indianapolis page covers the full list of what I offer, but the short version is this: prototypes, functional parts, custom models, multi-color prints, and small production runs — and I can usually turn them around faster than you'd expect.
The Equipment
The two printers I run are the Bambu Lab P1S and the H2C. If those model names don't mean anything to you, here's what matters.
The P1S is a fully enclosed, temperature-controlled machine — which sounds like a small thing until you realize it's the difference between a print that works and one that warps or fails partway through. The controlled environment means I can run a wider range of materials and hold tighter tolerances. It's the machine I reach for when finish quality and precision are the priority.
The H2C adds capacity. When a job is too large for one machine, or someone needs volume, the H2C handles the load. Running both machines means I can take on bigger jobs or parallel work without slowing down. The AMS (Automatic Material System) works alongside both printers to enable multi-color prints — up to four colors in a single job, with no manual filament swaps mid-print.
For clients who don't have a CAD file ready, I also use a Polycam 3D scanner. If you have a physical object you need replicated, modified, or used as a starting point, I can scan it and build from that. You don't need to hand me a finished file to get the ball rolling. See the 3D Printing Materials page for the full list of available materials and color options.
What Hoosier3D Stands For
- Fast turnaround. Most jobs are ready for pickup or ship within a few days. If your deadline is tight, tell me upfront — I'll give you a straight answer on whether I can hit it.
- Direct communication. I answer my own messages. You'll hear back from me, not an automated response, and I won't leave you guessing on timeline or price.
- Local pickup and delivery. If you're in the Indianapolis metro, you don't have to ship anything. We can set up pickup or I can deliver directly — whatever works.
- Transparent pricing. You'll get a clear number before anything gets printed. No surprises. If you have questions about how jobs get quoted, the 3D Printing Faq page covers the most common ones.
- Quality that matches much larger operations. Bambu Lab equipment is what professional studios and engineering firms use. That's what I'm running here — and it shows in the output.
Serving Indianapolis and Beyond
Hoosier3D is based in Indianapolis, and I regularly work with clients across the metro — including Carmel, Fishers, Westfield, Greenwood, Noblesville, and Brownsburg. Local pickup and delivery are both available if you're nearby.
If you're outside Indiana, it's not a problem. Send your files digitally and I'll ship finished parts straight to you. I work with remote clients across the country who want faster turnaround and someone they can actually talk to.
